This was the last day of my 10-day Chinese herbal experience, so I thought I might write a few words...
About 2 weeks ago, I got sick. Just the regular cold, you know. I had the fan on and window open, and you can never guess but California actually does get hella chilly at night... :P
Auntie T managed to convince me to go see a Chinese traditional doctor. My slight begrudging reluctance at first got a snarly, nasty glance from her which she quickly used to her advantage, and started to coach me on the virtues of Chinese herbs....
Before long we were there. The doctor looked like... what I expected of a Chinese traditional doctor.. and the long rows of Chinese herbs placed neatly in urns (not to mention the smell) were well within my expectations. In fact, so was the messy interior...
The whole diagnosis took about 10 seconds literally whereby he told me that I have all kinds of things I need to worry about... He told me my body is in nuclear meltdown (basically burning fuel very fast). His words worked better than any Jolt or Mountain Diew I could've had and got me paying 110% attention. I would say, all in all, a good sales pitch. He also knew I was hungry all the time, and actually I was eating about 2x my regular diet those few days, it was a bit scary. So anyhow he was right on in that regard. Hats off to him ;)
Anyhow the next day I went back with Auntie T to pick up my 'prescriptions' and here are the most interesting looking Chinese herbal meds I've ever seen.
You put one of these plastic packages in hot water, wait a few minutes, take it out, open seal, and drink up. That's it.
I finished taking ten days of this stuff and I'm still alive. I think I feel a lot better but that could also be cuz my cold's gone. Who knows!?
Good thing is he got me to start cooking brown rice and eat my fruits and veggies.... =)

Thanks for Auntie T
But..
Chinese herbs...never a solution for me
Eat Healthy, Sleep Tight, EXERCISE!
Keep doctor away
PS I don't think the herbs really can fix your easily hungry issue :P
Forgot to say
I am the first visitor and so nice to leave a comment HA
Well, at least you have the courage to step in these shops and follow their instructions. I am too westernized and lazy to prepare these strange smelling portions.
Somehow they taste better when cooked with chicken... But I cannot take most herbal soups because my qi is too hot (I was told so... :P)
Yeah, the hunger issue lies in your metabolism. One thing you can do is to work on your willpower.
Did the chinese medicine taste bad? You know, as they usually do.
Aiya, I didn't know reading a blog entry about sickness can be contagious...:op
